The East Greenwich Lions
financially support several charities.

  • Camp Mauchatea is an overnight summer camp for Rhode Islanders aged 6 to 17 who are legally blind. The camp provides summer recreation at no cost to children who are blind, including those with multiple handicaps.

  • Rhode Island Lions Cancer in Children Fund Incorporated gives financial assistance to various children who are battling cancer. Families are helped by providing hospital transportation, babysitting, medical aids, and assisting with other necessities the family may need.

Community Support

The East Greenwich Lions
serves our community and state.

  • Cover the costs of eye exams and glasses for East Greenwich residents in need

  • Collect donations for the local Food Cupboard who help low-income individuals and households that lack reliable access to affordable, nutritious food.

  • Donate large print books to the East Greenwich Public Library.

  • Help clean abandoned cemeteries in East Greenwich.

  • Provide funds for holiday meals to East Greenwich residents in need.

Sight Conservation

Sight conservation is one of the major activities of the club. The East Greenwich Lions provide eye-screening services, help local visually impaired citizens with financial support, and collect glasses for the needy.  Over 25,000 pairs of eyeglasses have been collected and distributed.  We also help support the Rhode Island Lions Sight Foundation (RILSF).
